In cracking processes, the gas is broken down into lighter hydrocarbons by absorbing heat through vertical pipes that pass through the furnace chamber. One of the most important operational challenges of furnaces is to increase heat efficiency and reduce energy consumption. Issues such as compliance with environmental requirements, pollution control and personnel safety are also among the concerns of these industries. As a result, proper insulation is considered as the main strategy of thermal control of the process. For this purpose, all kinds of refractory bricks, ceramic modules, etc. are permanently installed on the inner surface of the furnace body; However, at the entrance and exit of gas carriers, there is always a large amount of empty space in the pipe passage valves that a separate insulation must be installed to seal that part. Due to the fact that the pipes have a significant amount of horizontal and vertical vibration due to the transfer of gas at a very high speed through them, and also due to the thermal expansion of the pipes during the process, it is not possible to use completely rigid sealing insulation around the pipes.
As a result, a large amount of hot furnace gases are always released between the pipe and the insulation, and while significantly reducing the thermal efficiency of the furnace, will lead to a decrease in process quality, damage to the pipes by creating hot spots and increasing environmental hazards for personnel.
